Who is eligible to join the RAFWA?
There are 3 types of membership as follows: Full Membership Full members have voting rights at General Meetings and can be elected onto the Executive Committee. Full membership is open to: i. Serving members of the RAF, RAuxAF and RAFVR. ii. Civilian MOD personnel. iii. Ex-serving members of the RAF, RAuxAF and RAFVR who were full members when they were serving in these organisations. Affiliated Membership Affiliated members aged 16 years and older have full voting rights at General Meetings. They can be elected onto the Executive Committee if 18 years or over at the AGM at which they are standing, and in accordance with the restrictions shown at Para 6. Affiliated membership is not to exceed 50% of the RAFWA membership total of the 12 months prior to calculation. Affiliated membership is open to: i. Dependents of serving members of the RAF, RAuxAF and RAFVR and of civilian MOD personnel. ii. Serving members of HM Forces other than the RAF, including Reserve Forces, and their dependants. iii. Serving members of foreign military forces currently based at RAF Stations. iv. Personnel who have held full membership previously, but whose change in circumstances deny them affiliated membership as defined in sub paras b(i) to b(iii) v. A person who has been a regular member of an RAF Wargaming Club for at least 12 months, formally sponsored by the OIC of the relevant club. Honorary Membership Honorary membership is open to persons whose membership is or has been of benefit to the Association. Honorary members are to be formally proposed by any RAFWA member to the Executive Committee for vetting. Honorary Membership is conferred by a vote at a General Meeting. Honorary members do not have to pay the RAFWA membership fee, have no voting rights at General Meetings and cannot be elected onto the Executive Committee.
